The building blocks of the Amarillo community.
Incorporated in 1986, the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s primary mission is to improve the quality of life in the community by promoting economic and educational opportunities with an emphasis on Hispanic and minority-owned businesses.
Designed in 2008, the concept for this identity update was simple. The Amarillo Hispanic community are the building blocks of the city’s past, present, and future. With the Amarillo demographics, at the time being almost 30% Hispanic or Latino. As well as being the fastest growing demographic, I felt this solution was a solid approach to the visual identity.
The individuals, or building blocks, come together as a community, and form an abstract and simplified Mexican flag, displayed vertically of course, while also forming an “H” in the negative space.
As a result of a leadership change within the Board of Directors, the entire rebranding project was shelved and has not been revisited since.
