Upscale, modern living in downtown Amarillo.
Located on the corner of 10th and Tyler, The Firestone is an exclusive lifestyle community completed in 2017. The Firestone was designed and inspired by Architect Gregg Bliss, AIA, and Landscape Architect Cleve Turner. It features 13 unique upscale residences and exclusive amenities like our indoor community space, the “urban alley.” There’s also a large outdoor patio complete with a beautiful fire pit and professional grill.
The Firestone opened in the 1930s as the Louis H. Smith Inc. Firestone Store. It was hailed as a “one-stop shop” for car care and was the area’s premier Firestone distributor. Many of the features of the original building were preserved during the restoration and can be seen throughout the homes today. These include the wood trusses, masonry walls, and some terrazzo floors. In fact, if you look hard you might still find an old oil stain here and there. The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in July 2015.
The signature blackletter Firestone F along with the art deco styling of the building was the inspiration for the identity.
